I have been involved with classic cars since I was about 13. I bought my first car, an MGB roadster at 16.
I have owned, maintained & restored many cars since including 3 Morris Minors, a series 3 Landrover, 2 MGB roadsters, an Austin Mini, a Triumph Spitfire, a Triumph Vitesse & a Toyota MR2 Mk1
The last full nut & bolt rebuild I did for myself was a Triumph spitfire 1500 this won The Best Spitfire and also CAR OF THE SHOW at the 2008 Triumph international Show at Stafford county showground
Graham,
I am a time served spray painter/panel beater and have been working on new, used, classic and vintage cars, bikes and commercial vehicles since 1983, where i have used cellulose, synthetic, polyurathane, 2k and water based paint products. As time has moved on I have moved with it but the art of applying some of these products is still fresh in my mind. I have restored numerous cars including a MkI Escort, 1972 Volvo Saloon, Triumph 2000, Triumph Spitfire (this Spitfire is Marks).
My Father has a few 1950s and 1960s Bikes which he has stipped down and rebuilt and I have done all the paint work and panel work including hand painting any pinstripes and applying any transfers, these bikes are all now on the road and entered into shows where they are admired by hundreds of enthusiasts.
I enjoy working on and restoring any classic vehicle as this gives them a new lease of life and gives me great satifaction to see the owners driving them away with the worlds biggest smile.
